Geospatial skills are taught in theory and hired in practice. We run the part in between – workshops, capstone supervision, internships and a student competition, for universities across the UAE.
Why we do this
The gap is not knowledge. It is practice.
Graduates arrive knowing what a projection is and having never fixed a broken one. They can describe a spatial join and have never cleaned a dataset messy enough to need one.
We are a small firm in a research park surrounded by universities. Running teaching alongside client work keeps our own people sharp, and it is the most direct way we can help build the regional geospatial bench we will eventually hire from.
Design a geodatabase, load real data into it, and publish a working web map from it.
Analyse defensibly
Choose a method, state the assumptions, quantify the error and say what the result does not show.
Automate the boring half
Python for geospatial work – the difference between a one-off map and a repeatable pipeline.
Work with imagery
Handle real satellite scenes end to end, including the parts the textbook skips.
Programmes
Six ways we work with universities
Semester workshop series
A run of practical sessions delivered on campus or at SRTIP across a semester, taking a cohort from a first map to a published web application.
Eight to twelve sessions
Individual lab environment per student
Certificate of completion
Capstone & thesis support
Technical supervision for final-year and postgraduate geospatial projects: scoping the question, choosing the method, getting the data, and defending the result.
Method and data review
Access to imagery and software guidance
Mock viva and feedback
Internships & placements
Supervised placements on real engagements, with a named supervisor, a defined learning plan and an honest reference at the end.
Eight to sixteen weeks
Real project work, supervised
Written reference
Student GIS competition
An annual challenge on a real regional problem – judged on method and evidence rather than on cartographic polish.
Open to UAE universities
Mentoring through the entry period
Judged on method, not decoration
Faculty & curriculum support
Help designing or refreshing a geospatial module, building lab exercises on regional data, and training the staff who will teach it.
Module and lab design
Regional datasets for teaching
Train-the-trainer sessions
Research collaboration
Joint studies with university research groups, including co-authored publication where the work supports it.
Joint programme design
Named co-authorship
Access to our research network
Getting started
Whether you are a department or a student
Universities & faculty
Tell us the course, the cohort size, the level and the semester. We will propose a programme, a schedule and a price, and we will say plainly if a shorter intervention would serve your students better.
Internship places are limited and we take them seriously – you will do real work with a named supervisor, not filing. Send a CV, the module or project you are working on, and one thing you have built that you are proud of.
Certificates issued for student programmes are certificates of completion from infotech innovation (FZE). They are not a university credential and not a vendor certification – your institution decides whether any credit attaches.
Start a conversation
Have a geospatial problem, a research question, or a technology decision to get right?
Tell us what you are trying to find out. We come back within two working days with an honest view of whether we can help, how long it would take and what it would cost – before you commit to anything.
